Also called Protein lifeguard-1, putative MAPK-activating protein PMO2, and transmembrane BAX inhibitor motif-containing protein 3 (TMBIM3, GRINA, LFG1, NMDARA1). The human orthologue is Q7Z429.  Stimulation and block by spermine involve separate binding sites and distinct mechanisms (Jin et al. 2008).
