Facilitates exchange of ADP and ATP between the cytosol and mitochondria (inhibited by carboxyatractyloside and bongkrekate) (Clémençon et al. 2013).  Modification of lysyl residues with fluorescamine induces Ca2+ permeability (Buelna-Chontal et al. 2014).
