It may form a complex with poly(rC)-binding protein-2, PCBP2 (335 aas and possibly 4 N-terminal TMSs; AAI07689.1) and TOM20 (145 aas and possibly 1 N-terminal TMS; NP_055580.1) (Mi et al. 2024). This complex may serve as an iron entry pathway into mitochondria (Mi et al. 2024).
