YknW (TC# 9.B.29.2.17), a 5 TMS protein, interacts directly with YknXYZ and is essential for facilitation of its assembly, thus serving as an integral membrane chaparone (Yamada et al., 2012). The MFP YknX requires the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter YknYZ
and the Yip1 family protein YknW to form a functional complex. YknX (MFP) is hexameric (Xu et al. 2017).
