9.A.63.1.1 The yeast retromer-dependent Vacuolar Protein Sorting (VPS) apparatus (Feyder et al. 2015). The sorting nexin (SNX) proteins, homologous to retromer-dependent VPS protein, Q92331, that normally function in endosomal membrane trafficking, are a major class of inclusion-associated host proteins in chlamydial infection (Paul et al. 2017). Some of the components of this system are homologous to those of the retromer complexes in animals (see 9.A.3; McNally and Cullen 2018). VPS1, a GTPase involved in membrane fusion/fission, of 704 aas, may be involved in Coenzyme Q uptake and trafficking (Guile et al. 2023). The dynamin-like GTPase Vps1 mediates Atg9 transport to the phagophore assembly site (Hu and Reggiori 2023). The yeast dynamin-like GTPase Vps1 mediates Atg9 transport to the phagophore assembly site in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Hu and Reggiori 2023).
