Transports iron chelated dihydroxamate xenosiderophores, either ferric schizokinen (FeSK) or a ferric siderophore of the filamentous cyanobacterium Anabaena variabilis ATCC 29413 (a schizokinen derivative, SAV), as the sole source of iron in a TonB-dependent manner (Obando S et al. 2018). The gene schT encodes the TonB-dependent outer membrane transporter (TC# 1.B.14.9.6).
