Manganese (Mn2+) and Iron (Fe2+) porter, SitABCD (Davies and Walker, 2007).  Both this system and the MntH system in Agrobacterium tumefaciens, both Mn2+ transporters, are stronly inhibited by thymol and carvacrol, constituents of plant thyme white essential oils (Jung et al. 2025). Other oil constituents are also inhibitory (Jung et al. 2025).
