These include a holin (ChiW, 108 aas; TC# 1.E.2.1.13; CDG13439), a peptidoglycan hydrolase (phage-related toxin; ChiX; 133 aas; CDG13438), and two spanins belonging to the 1.M.7.1 subfamily of spanins (ChiY; 126 aas; CDG13437,an outer membrane spanin, and ChiZ, an inner membrane spanin; WP_414945846.1). There are three similar Chitinases in S. marcescens, ChiA, ChiB, and ChiC, and all of them may be exported via this system (Palmer et al. 2021).
