1.A.9.2.4
Zinc-activated ligand-gated cation channel of 412 aas and 5 TMSs, ZACN; ZAC.  Zac displays potencies and efficacies in the rank orders of H+>Cu2+>Zn2+ and H+>Zn2+>Cu2+, respectively. ZAC appears to be non-selectively permeable to monovalent cations, whereas Ca2+ and Mg2+ inhibit the channel (Trattnig et al. 2016). ZAC is an atypical cys-loop receptor in terms of its identified agonists and channel characteristics, but its signal transduction seems to undergo similar conformational transitions as those in other members of the family (Madjroh et al. 2021). N-(thiazol-2-yl)-benzamide analogs comprise a class of selective antagonists of ZAC (Madjroh et al. 2021). It transports monovalent cations (Lu et al. 2025).
