1.D.154. The Toroidal Type Ion Pore-forming Thiocolchicoside (TCC) Family

Thiocolchicoside (Muscoril, Myoril, Neoflax) is a muscle relaxant  with antiinflamatory and analgesic effects. It acts as a competitive GABAA receptor antagonist and also as a glycine receptor antagonist with similar potency, and an antagonist for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors with much lower potency (Ketenci et al. 2009). The antimicrobial peptide, gramicidin S, enhances membrane adsorption and ion pore formation potency of chemotherapy drugs, including thiocolchicoside and taxol (see TC# 1.D.155), in lipid bilayers (Ashrafuzzaman 2021).
