The cellobiose/cellotriose/cellodextrin/lactose transporter, Cdt-2, of 525 aas and 12 TMSs. It functions by facilitated diffusion but with low efficiency and high affinity (Km = 3 μM). Mutations can increase its activity substantially (Lian et al. 2014). It appears to be capable of catalyzing efflux of 2'-fucosyllactose (2'FL), the most abundant oligosaccharide in human breast milk, following genetic engineering (Hollands et al. 2019).
