Exports chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, novobiocin, acridine orange, acriflavine, benzalkonium chloride, DAPI, deoxycholate, ethidium bromide, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), tetraphenylphosphonium and others (Srinivasan et al., 2009; Lytvynenko et al. 2015). Purified AbeS binds
tetraphenylphosphonium with nanomolar affinity and exhibits electrogenic transport of
1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium after reconstitution into liposomes (Lytvynenko et al. 2016).
