8.A.161.1.1 Alpha/beta hydrolase domain-containing protein 17A, ABHD17a, a thioesterase that hydrolyzes fatty acids from S-acylated cysteine residues in proteins (Lin and Conibear 2015) and has depalmitoylating activity towards NRAS and DLG4/PSD95. Site-specific deacylation by ABHD17a controls BK channel splice variant activities (McClafferty et al. 2020).
