Cornichon, Chi, of 144 aas and 3 TMSs. Acts on TGFα family proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum, mediating or regulating transport and secretion (Castro et al. 2007). It acts as a cargo receptor necessary for the
transportation of gurken (grk) to a transitional endoplasmic reticulum
(tER) site and promotes its incorporation into coat protein complex II
(COPII) vesicles (Bökel et al. 2006).
