8.B.15.1.3

Precursor protein UG (U-actitoxin-Ugr1c; U-AITX-Ugr1c; AnmTX Ugr) of 162 aas and 1 N-terminal TMS.  Pi-AnmTX Ugr 9a-1: affects the ASIC3 channel (ACCN3) and produces analgesic effects. It produces a reversible inhibitory effect on both the transient and the sustained current of human ASIC3 channels expressed in X. laevis oocytes. It completely blocks the transient component (IC50=10 µM) and partially (48%) inhibits the amplitude of the sustained component (IC50=1.44 µM). Using in vivo tests in mice, it reverses inflammatory and acid-induced pain (Osmakov et al. 2013). The NMR structure is known (5LAH_A).

Eukaryota
Metazoa, Cnidaria
UG of Urticina grebelnyi
8.B.15.1.4

Delta-atitoxin of 233 aas and 1 N-terminal TMS followed by 6 short repeat sequences.  It inhibits voltage-gated Na+ channels.  It and other sea urchin peptides can also modulate the functions of the TRPV1 and TRPA1 channels (Kolesova et al. 2023).

Metazoa, Cnidaria
Antheopsis maculata (Sea anemone)
