9.A.14.3.18 5-Hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 4, HTR4, of 338 aas and 7 TMSs. This
is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine
(serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a
hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G
proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. The tmAC/PKA/CatSper channel signals via the 5-HT4 receptor, and after sAC and PKA are activated by such stimulation, sperm hyperactivation is enhanced (Sakamoto et al. 2021).
