This family has been examined, first, showing that its characterized member is a small transmembrane protein of 49 aas and 1 N-terminal TMS (residues 6 - 26). Second, it has been shown to have ion channel activity (Basu et al. 2023). Third, its 3-D transmembrane structure has been predicted using alpha-fold.
