1.D.92. The Cyclic Peptide-Polymer Conjugate (CPPC) Family
Cyclic peptides (CPs) form artificial ion channels in lipid membranes. The design and synthesis of cyclic peptide-polymer conjugates (CPPCs) that can self-assemble within lipid bilayers into nanotubes mimicks naturally occurring membrane channels and pores. The pH-sensitive dye, carboxyfluorescein, can be encapsulated within the water pool of vesicles and used as an indicator of proton transport via these CPPCs (Binfield et al. 2018). The pH-sensitive dye, carboxyfluorescein, can be encapsulated within the water pool of the giant unilamellar vesicles and used as an indicator of proton transport.
