9.B.107 The 8TMS Putative Permease (8-PP) Family The proteins of the 8-PP family often have 8TMSs although other (larger) topologies are observed. With a single iteration, BLAST brings up lists that show extensive sequence similarity with proteins in established families including ACR3 (2.A.59) and ABC (3.A.1.14). The significance of these last observations has not been investigated.
