9.B.147 The 10 TMS Integral Membrane Protein (10-IMP) Family
Little is known about members of the 10-IMP family except that they are of about 300 - 400 aas in length and usually, but not always, have 10 putative TMSs. Some members with 8 or 12 putative TMSs have been reported. None appears to have been functionally characterized, and CDD says 'No putative domains have been detected'. However the 10-IMP family is quite large with many members from diverse bacterial phyla.
