9.B.257. The Uncharacterized Bacterial Protein-7 (UBP7) Family
The UBP7 Family is a large family consisting of proteins with 4, 5, 6, and 10 TMSs primarily. They may be related to the DMT (2.A.7) Superefamily. However it seems more likely that they are related to family 9.B.74, a putative ABC membrane protein family. Proteins of the UBP7 family belong to the DUF998 domain family. Members are in both cultured bacteria, mostly firmicutes and actinobacteria, but also unculturable bacteria.
