8.A.141.1.1 Eros chaparone protein of 468 aas and one N-terminal TMS. In response to extracellular ATP, the purinergic receptor P2X7 (1.A.7.1.3) mediates various biological processes, including phosphatidylserine (PtdSer) exposure, phospholipid scrambling, dye uptake, ion transport, and IL-1beta production. Eros in mice is absolutely required for P2X7 function in all of these capacities. It probably functions as a chaparone protein for the insertion and assembly of this system as well as others (Ryoden et al. 2020).
